Dayworks
Definition
Dayworks is a method of valuing construction work where the contractor is paid for actual labour, materials, and plant used, plus agreed percentage additions for overheads and profit, rather than a fixed lump sum or measured rate. It is typically used for minor additional or varied work that cannot easily be measured or priced in advance.
In construction tendering, this means...
Dayworks sheets must typically be signed off by the client's site representative on the day the work is carried out. Unsigned dayworks sheets are one of the most common causes of disputes in construction. The contractor may have done the work, but without contemporaneous sign-off it's difficult to evidence what was instructed and what was actually done.
Takshy automates the parts of the tendering process that involve dayworks, extracting scope, managing documents, and keeping your workflow organised from first document to final award.
